Differences with other treatments

The PronoKal® Method is not a high protein diet or a low-calorie diet.

It is important to differentiate between a protein diet, high protein diet and low-calorie diet.

The PronoKal® Method, based on the Protein Diet, reduces your intake of fats and sugars but, unlike other diets, it provides the amount of proteins your body needs to function properly and ensures the weight lost takes place at the expense of accumulated fat. This feature, along with personalised application under medical supervision, means the PronoKal® Method is a proven, effective and safe way of treating excess weight and obesity.

Thus, the PronoKal® Method is a comprehensive treatment combining a protein diet and the accompanying physiological adaptation with a change in habits supported by the multidisciplinary team and patient monitoring for 2 years after the treatment ends.

On the other hand, high protein diets reduce calorie intake, but excessively increase the ingestion of proteins, which may strain the metabolism. Low-calorie diets reduce fat and sugar intake, as well as protein, making it difficult for the body to cover its vital needs and thus causing loss of muscle mass.
