What is the ketogenic (keto) diet?

What is ketosis?

Our ketogenic diet provides the recommended amount of protein and is low in carbohydrates and fats. By reducing carbohydrates, the body uses its accumulated fat reserves as an energy source.

This process is known as ketosis and is a type of metabolism that our body carries out naturally when carbohydrate intake is low.

How does the ketogenic diet work?

Because of the low carbohydrate intake, the body has to use its accumulated fat reserves as fuel. This process, called ketosis, results in the formation of the so-called ketone bodies, which are used as the main source of energy and also produce a psycho-stimulant effect, generating a sense of well-being and vitality.
